We ran a poster competition for supported Bike It Schools. The theme was ‘Cycling and Air Pollution’.
Cycling is great for so many reasons: it makes you fit and keeps you healthy, it’s fun, and often quicker than other modes of transport. And it also doesn’t pollute the air we breathe.
Children in Bike It Plus schools all across London are well aware of this and we’re continuously amazed by how many choose two wheels for their journey to school. Well done!
To celebrate the great work everyone is doing we organised a poster competition for all Bike It Plus schools that are in the supported stage of the programme.
We thought long and hard about it, and decided for the theme of the competition to be ‘Cycling and Air Pollution’.
Road traffic is the main source of air pollution in London and by choosing to cycle, scoot or walk to school everyone can help to clean up London’s air.
We were overwhelmed by the great response and the high number of posters we’ve received from supported Bike It Schools.
It really wasn’t easy to choose the winners, but in the end we were happy to send prizes to St Joseph’s Catholic Junior School in Brent, Cayley Primary School in Tower Hamlets and Central Park Primary School in Newham.
Have a look at the photos of some of the marvellous posters we’ve received. We hope you like them as much as we do. A big thank you to all children who took part!
